Swimmin' across the tallest grass
She followed him into the field.
'This is where,' he said to her
'Is where I like to be.'
Once near the center he
Hollowed out a space
Between the branches squeezin' in
She couldn't see his face.
Everything reminded her
Of everything he said.
And everything
Made more sense to her.
I'd like to go again, to go on in
A small room she could see
And there he sat and his eyes were red
And deep in them she would be
Branches and the grass above her, head into the sky
Everything is makin more
Sense to her.
The only one thing left to see
With her eyes
Closed on me
Will she stay here with the comfort
Of knowing who she should be
Memories...memories...
